Kenneth A. Vecchione is Encore Capital Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer.During his more than 35-year career, Mr. Vecchione has held a number of senior positions at large financial services companies, including Chief Operating Officer of Western Alliance Bancorporation from 2010-2013, Chief Financial Officer at Apollo Global Management, LLC from 2007-2010 and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at AT&T Universal Card Services from 1997-1998. Between 1998 and 2006, Mr. Vecchione served in a number of positions at MBNA Corporation, including three years as Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer. Before being acquired by Bank of America in 2005, MBNA was the 10th largest U.S. bank and the world’s largest independent credit card lender. Mr. Vecchione has deep and diverse experience in areas essential to Encore’s ongoing success, including operations, corporate strategy, risk management and regulatory affairs. He is highly respected within the financial services industry and brings to Encore high-level relationships in the banking and credit card sectors. Mr. Vecchione also sits on the Board of Western Alliance Bancorporation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the State University of New York – Albany in 1976.
Jonathan Clark is Encore’s Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Clark is responsible for managing relationships with the investment community, leading capital raising efforts, and for financial reporting, treasury, and risk management functions. He joined Encore’s subsidiary Midland Credit Management as CFO in October, 2014.Before joining Encore Capital Group, Clark was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SLM Corp., also known as Sallie Mae. During his time at Sallie Mae from 2008 until 2013, Clark increased investor value, reestablished the organization as a major player in the securitization market, and guided the company during the global financial crisis. Prior to joining Sallie Mae, Clark served as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse Securities from 2000 to 2007, after having served in various executive roles at Prudential Securities, The First Boston Corp., and a variety of other companies during his career. Clark earned an economics degree from the University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School.
Paul Grinberg serves Encore Capital Group as Group Executive, International and Corporate Development. In this role, oversees Encore’s European and Latin American operations along with corporate development responsibilities. He is responsible for maximizing our international subsidiaries’ contribution to Encore, and identifying suitable portfolios and businesses to further diversify and strengthen the company. Previously, Mr. Grinberg served as Encore’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. During one of the most challenging times in the worldwide credit markets, Mr. Grinberg successfully raised more than $375 million in debt financing for Encore, at favorable terms, enabling us to take advantage of very strong purchasing opportunities. Moreover, Mr. Grinberg significantly enhanced our presence in the investment community, reflected in new sell-side analyst coverage with strong ratings.Prior to joining Encore, Mr. Grinberg served as President of Brio Consulting Group, a company he founded that provided financial strategy and consulting services to private equity and venture-backed companies. Before that, Mr. Grinberg served as Chief Financial Officer of Stellcom, Inc., a systems integration firm focused on providing mobile and wireless engineering solutions to Fortune 1000 companies, and as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TeleSpectrum Worldwide, Inc., a publicly traded company that provided outsourced call center solutions to Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Grinberg began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP, ultimately becoming a partner in the firm’s Merger and Acquisition Services Group. Mr. Grinberg is currently a director of Bank of Internet USA (NASDAQ: BOFI), a FDIC insured, internet-only bank. Mr. Grinberg earned a MBA (graduating Beta Gamma Sigma) from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting (graduating magna cum laude) from Yeshiva University.
Ashish Masih joined the company in 2009. His current role is executive vice president, U. S. Debt Purchasing Operations. He previously served as senior vice president of legal collections operations, and senior vice president of corporate development. Mr. Masih was vice president at Capital One Financial Corp., where he held senior roles in collections and recoveries among other roles. Prior to joining Capital One, Mr. Masih was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company and a Manager at KPMG Consulting.Mr. Masih earned an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India.
Greg Call has served as our Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary since September 2011. He is responsible for overseeing the Company’s legal department, the enterprise risk management and compliance functions, and the team of legal professionals supporting the Company’s internal legal collections channel. Mr. Call joined the Company in January 2010, serving as Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs.From 1999 until 2008, Mr. Call served in-house at Gateway, Inc., the computer maker and holder of one of America’s strongest consumer brands, where he ultimately led the company's law department as Vice President, General Counsel. From 2009 until joining the Company, Mr. Call was a shareholder of New Hope Legal Center, Inc. From 1994 until 1999, Mr. Call was an associate at the law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCoy LLP, a leading international law firm, where his practice focused on complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution. Mr. Call received his bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University in 1991 and his JD, with honors, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1994.
Amy Anuk has 14 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Encore Capital Group. In this role, she oversees the acquisition of consumer debt portfolios, manages the company’s partnerships with major financial institutions, and leads one of the industry’s most accomplished Business Development teams. Under her direction, Encore has invested nearly $5 billion for Encore’s U.S. debt purchasing business. She has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s reputation and reach throughout the financial services sector. In 2012, Ms. Anuk was a member of The Debt Buyer’s Association’s inaugural task force responsible for the creation and launch of the industry’s first debt buyer certification program. In 2013, she chaired the Standards Committee on the Certification Council responsible for the creation of uniform compliance standards across the industry, and was then elected to Chair the Certification Council. Ms. Anuk was then re-elected as Chair of the Council for two consecutive years. In 2016, she was then elected to The Debt Buyer’s Association’s Board of Directors for which she currently serves. Ms. Anuk championed the development of Encore’s women’s leadership initiative, and in 2013 launched Women@Encore including its inaugural Women’s Leadership Development Program. She currently serves as Chair of Women@Encore. Ms. Anuk holds an MBA, with a specialization in Finance, from San Diego State University.
Anupam Arun has a 19-year track record in banking, financial services and information technology enabled services. Before joining Encore, Mr. Arun served as General Manager, Global Business Services, of Rio Tinto, India, where he led its first Global in-house center delivering recruitment and HR shared services for its organization worldwide. Prior to that, Mr. Arun worked with Ventura India for seven years as its country manager and director. In this role, Mr. Arun set up the organization in India, including infrastructure, brand and critical business processes, growing it to 2,000 employees. Between 2000 and 2005, he led a 1,000 person multi-site team at GE in India for the consumer finance business (Americas), including outbound collections across delinquency stages and inbound customers.Mr. Arun earned an MBA in marketing from the University of Indore, India.
Ryan Bell has fourteen years of financial services experience in analytical and operational roles. As Senior Vice President of Legal Collections, Mr. Bell oversees Encore’s Internal Legal and Legal Outsourcing Operations. In this role he is responsible for the strategic direction, financial performance, and operational effectiveness of the Legal Collections channel. Mr. Bell joined Encore in 2011 as Vice President of Legal Outsourcing. In that role, Mr. Bell oversaw the network of law firms that Encore partnered with across the country.Before joining Encore, Mr. Bell spent eleven years in marketing and analysis at Capital One Financial Corp. primarily in the auto finance line of business. His experience at Capital One included marketing strategy, credit policy, new product development, business development, and operations strategy. Mr. Bell earned an MBA (graduating Beta Gamma Sigma) from The Cox School Business at Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (graduating cum laude) from Texas A&M University.
Carl Eberling joined Encore Capital Group in June 2012 as Senior Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining Encore, Mr. Eberling served as GM and Chief Technology Officer at Quest Software, where he led the technological alignment of the entire Quest Software portfolio. Previously, he held executive and CIO positions with Kaiser Permanente and Verizon Wireless. An experienced technology leader, Mr. Eberling has spearheaded strategic technology acquisitions and solutions development, and possesses expertise in data security and performance management.Mr. Eberling holds a B.S. from San Francisco State University and has done Telecommunications Engineering coursework at the University of California at Berkeley and Information Systems Design coursework at Golden State University. A former U.S. Marine Sergeant, Mr. Eberling has lived and worked in Burma, Korea, and Japan.
Barbara J. Kennedy is senior vice president of Human Resources. Ms. Kennedy is responsible for human resources globally, including talent acquisition and management, employee relations, total rewards, and developing and implementing a wide range of department initiatives that align with Encore's business objectives.Ms. Kennedy joins Encore after more than five years at United Stationers Supply Company where she was senior vice president of Human Resources. During that time, she also served on the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), the Novo Group and Meals On Wheels. Prior to United Stationers, Ms. Kennedy spent nine years with Swift Transportation Company, Inc. where she most recently served as executive vice president, Human Resources, Safety, Recruiting and Driver Services. Before Swift, she held various management positions in human resources at Barr-Nunn Transportation. Ms. Kennedy received her Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Kaushik Kundu has fourteen years of financial services experience in analytical and operational roles. As Senior Vice President of Internal Operations Collections, Mr. Kundu oversees Encore’s Call center Operations that spans across call centers in three countries. In this role he is responsible for setting the strategy, financial performance, and operational effectiveness of the Call centers. Mr. Kundu joined Encore in 2009 and led the Strategy and Analytics functions.Before joining Encore, Mr. Kundu spent eight years in marketing and analysis at Capital One Financial Corp. primarily in the Credit Card business. His experience at Capital One included credit policy, valuation modeling, customer management, balance build program and online analytics. Mr. Kundu earned an MBA from Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore, India) and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University (Kolkata, India). He is a CFA charter holder from CFA Institute.
Manu Rikhye joined Encore in 2005 as a founding member of the India management team. He is currently Executive Vice President, Encore Capital Group, and Managing Director of Midland Credit Management India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Encore Capital Group.In this role, Mr. Rikhye heads Encore’s extensive operations in India. Since he began managing Encore’s India operations, it has grown from a team of 200 employees to 2,000, with a staff that supports the parent company’s operational, analytic, and IT needs. Under his leadership, Encore India has been named one of India’s Top 50 Companies to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute for four consecutive years. Mr. Rikhye’s career reflects his entrepreneurial success. He has previously held significant positions across areas of collections operations including portfolio management, profitability, performance management and client service delivery. He has been instrumental in setting up, building and growing medium- to large-sized businesses focused on financial services. His early experience includes time at GE Capital Services and Aegis BPO. Mr. Rikhye holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Delhi University and a Business Management degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
Jaison Thomas serves as Senior Vice President of Operations for Encore India. Mr. Thomas has been successfully leading large scale diversified operations for Encore India for the last six years. He has played a pivotal role in developing business strategy to enhance growth and service delivery across the call center, legal and Encore’s Cabot subsidiary.Under Mr. Thomas’ leadership, Encore’s India operations have continued to grow and contribute significantly to Encore’s success. His proven skills and abilities are a major strength for Encore and its leadership team. Before joining Encore in 2008, Mr. Thomas spent 17 years managing operations in the ARM and BPO industry with global firms including IBM Daksh, Global Vantedge and GE Capital International Services. Mr. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Delhi University in India.
Sheryl Wright joined the company in August 2012 as the Senior Vice President of External Affairs. In this role, she leads the company's government and public affairs efforts. Specifically, she manages federal and state legislative and regulatory matters, corporate communications, community outreach/social responsibility, and Encore’s Political Action Committee (PAC). Additionally, she engages with key stakeholders to ensure that the needs of our consumers are met.Ms. Wright joined Encore from Bridgepoint Education, where she served as Senior Vice President, External Affairs for 3 1/2 years. Prior to Bridgepoint, she had a 25 year career with Sprint Nextel, most recently serving as Vice President of Government Affairs. Ms. Wright serves on numerous public policy and community boards, including San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce-Public Policy Committee, San Diego Taxpayers Association, and the Public Affairs Council, Washington DC. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Southwestern College (Kansas) and an MBA from Kansas State University.
John Yung joined Encore as Senior Vice President of Strategy in July 2015. In this role, he serves as a member of the Executive Committee. John will be responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the company, with an emphasis on the long term strategies that will ensure the ongoing profit and growth of the company.Before joining Encore, John worked at ZenBanx Holding Ltd where he was COO of ZenBanks USA. Prior to that, he held several positions at ING USA, including Head of Consumer Lending and Head of Customer Research and Analytics. He also served in executive positions with Bank of America and MBNA America Bank. John earned a BA in economics, with honors, from the University of California-Davis, and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Duke University.
